Author Guidelines
Instructions for Authors
Researchers, scholars, and education professionals are invited to submit original manuscripts for consideration by the Journal of Contemporary Pedagogical Studies. All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening conducted by the Editorial Board to assess their relevance to the journal’s aims, scope, and submission requirements. Manuscripts that successfully pass this preliminary assessment will proceed to a double-blind peer review process before a final editorial decision is made.
Before submitting a manuscript, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or publish any copyrighted material included in their work, such as photographs, images, documents, tables, figures, research instruments, or datasets. In addition, all individuals listed as authors must have agreed to their inclusion as co-authors. Where applicable, authors must ensure that the research has received approval from the appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal and institutional requirements of the country in which the study was conducted.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s minimum standards of scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, or editorial requirements. Prior to submission, authors should ensure that the study design, theoretical framework, methodology, and argumentation are clearly developed and appropriately structured. Likewise, the title should accurately reflect the content of the manuscript, and the abstract should provide a concise and self-contained summary of the study.
Manuscript Preparation
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and must not be under consideration for publication by any other journal, publisher, or platform at the time of submission.
The maximum length of a manuscript is 8000 words, including the title, abstracts, and keywords in both Spanish and English, as well as the complete list of references.
All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least two reviewers, who may recommend revisions before a final editorial decision is reached.
The Journal of Contemporary Pedagogical Studies is published on a continuous publication basis in electronic format through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The journal welcomes contributions from researchers, educators, school leaders, and education professionals working across all educational levels and fields. Manuscripts may be submitted in either Spanish or English.
Publication Ethics and Responsibilities
Individuals participating in the peer review process are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. They must not disclose, reproduce, or use any information obtained during the review process for purposes other than the scientific evaluation of the manuscript, and they are required to respect the authors’ intellectual property rights at all times.,Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with national and international standards regarding copyright, research integrity, and academic ethics. They assume full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and scientific content of the work submitted for publication.
Authorship Information
Authors are required to provide the following information through the journal's online submission system:
- Institutional affiliation.
- Corresponding author's email address.
- ORCID iD, where available.
- A brief academic and professional biography not exceeding seven lines.
Only individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the conception, development, execution, or writing of the research may be listed as authors. Participation limited to data collection, funding acquisition, or general supervision of the research project does not, by itself, constitute sufficient grounds for authorship.
For manuscripts with four or more authors, an individual contribution statement for each author must be included, following the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) or an equivalent authorship contribution model. This statement must appear at the end of the manuscript, immediately before the References section. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request clarification or additional information whenever the number of authors does not appear to be consistent with the nature, design, or scope of the research presented.
Funding Statement
If the research or publication of the manuscript has received financial support, authors must provide a funding statement at the end of the manuscript, immediately before the References section. Where applicable, the funding organization and the corresponding grant or project number must also be identified. If no external funding was received, no funding statement is required.
Article Processing Charges
The Journal of Contemporary Pedagogical Studies does not charge any submission, processing, or publication fees.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors may deposit both the accepted version of their manuscript and the published version in institutional, disciplinary, or personal repositories, provided that the original bibliographic citation is retained and the applicable Creative Commons license is clearly indicated.
Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
The Journal of Contemporary Pedagogical Studies recognizes the growing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in academic research and scholarly writing. To promote transparency, research integrity, and author accountability, the journal establishes the following policy regarding the use of these technologies.
Disclosure of GenAI Use
Authors must explicitly disclose any use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools during the preparation of their manuscript. This information must be provided in a separate statement placed immediately before the References section, identifying the tool used and describing the specific purpose for which it was employed.
Author Responsibility
Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their manuscript, including any text, images, tables, figures, or other materials that have been generated, modified, or assisted by GenAI tools. The use of such technologies does not exempt authors from ensuring the originality, accuracy, scientific quality, and academic integrity of the submitted work.
Authorship
Generative Artificial Intelligence tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript. Authorship is reserved exclusively for individuals who meet internationally accepted academic and ethical criteria for scholarly authorship.
Acceptable Use
The use of GenAI tools is permitted for support activities such as language editing, translation, improvement of writing style, organization of the manuscript, or other technical assistance. In all cases, authors are responsible for carefully reviewing, verifying, and validating any content generated or assisted by these tools before submitting the manuscript.
Peer Review
Reviewers and members of the Editorial Board must not upload, in whole or in part, manuscripts under review to any Generative Artificial Intelligence system that stores, retains, trains on, or reuses submitted content. This policy is intended to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and security of the peer review process.
Non-Compliance
Failure to disclose the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence tools, or any use of such technologies that compromises the scientific integrity, ethical standards, or originality of a manuscript, may result in the rejection of the submission or the implementation of any editorial measures deemed appropriate in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and editorial policies.
