SPECIAL NUMBER (monographic)

Qualitative research in the educational context: trends, challenges and perspectives

Dr. Gustavo Toledo Lara. Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Javier Bermejo Rodríguez. Guest Editor

Presentation:

Qualitative research has acquired a central role in the study of educational phenomena, making it possible to explore in depth the experiences, meanings and dynamics underlying the teaching and learning processes, that is, the pedagogical process. This monographic issue seeks to bring together contributions that reflect, from a critical and updated perspective, on recent developments, methodological and epistemological challenges, and future projections of qualitative research in the field of education. We invite the academic community to submit original papers that address the use, adaptation and innovation of qualitative approaches in various educational levels and contexts, from early childhood education to higher education, including non-formal education and teacher training.

Suggested thematic axes:

  1. New trends in qualitative methodologies applied to education.
  2. Ethical, political and epistemological challenges of qualitative research.
  3. Action research, ethnography, case studies and emerging approaches.
  4. Narratives, discourse analysis and other strategies of qualitative analysis.
  5. Technological innovations and ICT in qualitative educational research.
  6. Qualitative research training in university contexts.
  7. Qualitative research in initial and continuing teacher training.
  8. Applications of qualitative methods in contexts of inclusion, interculturality and equity.
  9. Articulation of mixed methods with qualitative predominance in educational studies.
  10. Experiences of implementation of qualitative methodologies in real projects.
